Co-ordinators Albert & Bob advise that they held a successful Christmas function on 9 December at a new venue with a good attendance of 21. Included in attendees was former Canberra staff member Garry McKay and his wife Gaye, who were visiting from Macksville, as well as local resident Bob Skidmore and his wife Marcia, who had been unable to join us in recent times due to health and other issues. Albert said that Garry was actually one of the Canberra branch managers in November 1982 and has visited Canberra regularly since retirement to catch up with family and friends. Unfortunately, some regular members of our group were unable to attend. Canberra is looking forward to having two functions in 2023, one mid-year and the other in December. |
