Ron Welsh welcomed all present, thanking them and giving a mention to those who had travelled from the South Coast and Sydney to attend. Ron mentioned that there were 47 in attendance, which was very pleasing for all.
Jim Richardson then mentioned two first time attendees Judy Smeaton and Reg Roderick, a very recently retired officer. Jim tendered apologies for Keith and Joan Anderson, Noel Bottrell, Ron Bracken, Bart Byrne, Keith Crawford, Ron Hargrave, Ian and Gwen Jarratt, Bob L’Brocq, Alan and June Willoughby and Rod Prosser. Sadly for the Newcastle Chapter, Col and Robyn Killer are moving to Mudgee in ten days and they will be sadly missed. The next meeting is yet to be determined, as the club will be undergoing renovations and may not be able to accommodate ANZROC in May when we usually meet. Jim advised he will keep all informed of any arrangements. Jim then thanked those members that had provided transport from the station, wished all a very Merry Christmas and best wishes for the new year. President of ANZROC (NSW) Phil Cohen stood and thanked Jim and Cheryl Richardson and Ron Welsh for organizing this and other ANZROC – Newcastle events. Phil spoke on the pleasure gleaned from the reminiscing of past times and general catching up with old friends and colleagues that the event enabled. He concluded by wishing all well in their retirement, and bet wishes for Christmas and the New Year. |
